Sky Light
Look to the skies as our city-scaled installation Sky Light connects Melbourne’s iconic city buildings across the Yarra using powerful beams of laser light. This ephemeral and experiential work will transform our cityscape in a four-day coronation of illumination and sound, transcending the everyday and prompting us to consider the physicality of connection and dislocation.            Beginning at Princes Bridge on St Kilda Road, choose a path along the river bank, looking up as you follow the light, which will fade and reappear as you walk. Invisible from certain angles yet striking from others, the work transforms with your perspective. Immerse yourself in the electronic composition designed to accompany you as you go. Every half-hour, connect with your fellow Fringe pilgrims at one of our sound stations along the way to witness an extraordinary moment where laser and sound connect above the river.            A vast light and sound experience, Sky Light will cause a radical perspective shift as we come together to look up, questioning our connection under a shared sky.
