After Warracknabeal
Warracknabeal, a small town four hours drive north-west from Melbourne, is a town in decline. Without a creative solution, the continued downturn in population and economic activity will see it die a slow death. After Warracknabeal proposes to offer the town an ‘afterlife’ through an ambitious plan to transform the disused Warracknabeal Courthouse heritage precinct into a into a space for artists and the arts.
Shortlisted for the Creative Victoria – Creative State Commissions. This project is led by Matthew Bird, Charity Edwards and Tom Morgan of MADA Monash University Art Design & Architecture in partnership with Ross Turnbull & Clare Chandler (Working Heritage).
